ABFE Black Male Initiative - Cultivating Change

Since 2006, ABFE has partnered with the Open Society Foundations, the WK Kellogg Foundation, Casey Family Programs, and The California Endowment as a national network of philanthropic institutions supporting grantmaking that improves outcomes for Black men and boys. As a part of ABFE’s ongoing efforts to inform the field of philanthropy of effective and responsive grantmaking strategies within Black communities, we have begun to track grantmaking activity in Black men and boys initiatives to learn what it takes to successfully advocate internally for this type of focused investment. To this end, we invite you to review the list of foundations that have made explicit investments in support of this population. A contact person has been identified for each to aid in learning more about promising strategies and objectives for maximizing impact in the development of new initiatives.
