Kellye McKenzie

Trainer & Advisor

Kellye A. McKenzie serves as Trainer & Advisor at ABFE, a role in which she provides content expertise and technical support to ABFE’s Philanthropic Advising Services.

Kellye is proud to have started her career as an HIV/AIDS Educator in the Peace Corps in Jamaica, and later returned to the Peace Corps to serve as Associate Peace Corps Director in Western Samoa from 2008-2011. She spent nearly a decade in Washington, D.C. working in various areas of public health including HIV/AIDS and reproductive health, women’s health, and school-based health. She served as Executive Director of Peer Health Exchange, Washington, D.C., and as the Washington, D.C. Executive Director of Wyman Center. She also served in management roles at National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors, and School Based Health Assembly.

In 2015 Kellye returned to her home town to serve as Director of Health at Trident United Way (Charleston, SC region) from 2015-2019, where she led the establishment of Healthy Tri-County, a multi-sector collective impact initiative to improve health outcomes that grew to 70 plus organizational and 1,100 individual members. In 2018 Kellye co-founded GOODSTOCK Consulting LLC, a firm that provides strategic planning, community organizing and engagement supports, topical trainings and keynote presentations, and equity, diversity and inclusion services to a broad range of clients.

Kellye serves on the board of Charleston Promise Neighborhood. She received her Masters of Public Administration from New York University, Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service, and her BA in English from Spelman College.
