Brea Butler

Coordinator of Philanthropic Advising Services

Brea Butler is ABFE’s Coordinator of Philanthropic Advising Services. She supports the PAS team logistically and administratively to help them provide racial equity training and workshops to external clients. She also provides data insights on the impact of those trainings from surveys and verbal feedback.

Brea comes to ABFE after having managed a grant that reached across five agencies to provide suicide prevention training to a six-county area in Northeast Florida. She brings a vast array of experience in the nonprofit sector, including serving with City Year for two years doing educational equity work in her hometown. She’s also worked in higher education and in a Neuropsychology Clinic assessing geriatric patients for memory disorders.

Hailing from Baton Rouge, LA, Brea now resides in Florida. She received her master’s degree in Community Psychology from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and firmly believes that building and strengthening community is how Black people get free. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from the University of Louisiana- Lafayette, the hometown of some of the best food in the country. A natural jack of all trades, Brea enjoys reading, gaming, podcasting, and meditation, and is always looking for new hobbies and skills to add to her repertoire.
